20 more days until Summer and 8 more until we are done with another school year.
Hello Lovelies! It’s been an eventual year for me and I am glad that I’ve been able to share my playlist to many. Sadly it is my last blog of the year, but don’t worry I will be back sharing more playlist for the 2018-19 school year.
I think it’s obvious by my title and intro that one can tell my last playlist will be about summer. If I am being honest summer isn’t my cup of tea, but boy do I enjoy two months away from school, and it gives me many opportunities to finally listen to the artist I include in my playlists live.
Consisting of 50 songs, this playlist will make you not want summer to end. It’s an overall joyful and carefree playlist that can be used for cookouts, traveling, a dip in the pool, or just laying under the sun. I for one love driving with my windows down and blasting these bops very loud.
Many song names have “sun” and “summer,” just because I am that cliche, like Calvin Harris’ “Summer.” Talking about Calvin Harris, he is the most repetitive artist on this months playlist. With six songs, Harris proves he has the best songs for the summer. The sensational beats he brings and the lyrics that are all about the hot heat are quintessential for being under the sun.
I’m always up for listening to new music and artists, but if I am being honest I have never been out of the English and Spanish spectrum for music. BTS, a Korean Pop group I have recently discovered by the help of the internet, recently dropped a new album. They performed their hit single “Fake Love” at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, which is added to this playlist. This group doesn’t only bring great style and dance moves, but amazing songs one can bop to during this hot season.
“September,” by Earth, Wind, & Fire is my top song for this playlist. Most of us are back to school in September and it’s the last few days of summer, but we can’t deny that we don’t jam out to this song every seasons. Not only does it bring nostalgic memories, it brings joy to my day. The funky groovy beat it produces brings out one’s cheesy 70’s breakdance moves.
My Top 5 (list is in order)
- “September” by Earth, Wind, & Fire
- “Feels” by Calvin Harris
- “Nice for What” by Drake
- “Love Lies” by Khalid and Normani
- “Barracuda” by Heart
Well that is it for this school year. Don’t forget to check out this playlist on Spotify. It will be updated when new summer bops come out. Until next year ! Have an adventurous summer !
Much love and enjoy,
