Breakfast, the most important meal of the day, is sometimes easy to skip when in a morning rush. But some breakfast places in Asheville will make you want to either wake up earlier or be late to wherever you need to go.
Weekends are the prime time to stop for a quick bite with friends or go on a cute breakfast date, and Sunny Point Cafe is the perfect place to go.
Sunny Point Cafe, located in Downtown West Asheville, is a family owned independent restaurant serving breakfast or dinner options for those of you who aren’t breakfast food fans.
The cute cafe is hard to miss with a bright yellow exterior and cute patio dining area, perfect for those warmer days.
The cafe takes pride in their farm-to-table and made from scratch moto. They take their mentality to the next level with their own fruit and veggie garden outside the restaurant so you know your food is the freshest, fitting in quite well with the vibes of West Asheville.
They’re open 8 am to 2:30 pm on Sundays and Mondays and 8 am to 9:30 pm on Tuesdays through Saturday’s.
Depending on when you go, you may see different version of the menu. During the day, the menu consists mostly breakfast options. At night, the dinner menu consists of a mix of dinner options and multiple savoury breakfast items, because it’s never to late for some eggs.
A must try is the French toast, served at all times of the day. With homemade bread, dipped in buttermilk and grilled: it’s to die for. If your not a French toast fan, don’t worry the menu isn’t short of any mouth watering entrees.
When you do stop at Sunny Point make sure to try their locally famous biscuits and jelly. Jelly that if you like enough can buy your own take home bottle.
Here’s some other local breakfast restaurants if Sunny Point wasn’t your style: Biscuit Head with two locations and a soon to be third right here in South Asheville, Early Girl Eatery, Green Sage, and Corner Kitchen.
Eating locally supports the community that surrounds you, so make sure to quit dining at restaurant chains and start the good habit of eating locally.
