Have you ever experienced a really good sunset or sunrise and have wanted to be able to capture the moment with confidence enough to not add an extra filter to impress people? I happen to be in love with sunsets and while I want to experience it as much as possible not being behind a Snapchat camera, I still want to be able to take some bomb.com pictures. So, I have researched some good tips for you for your next outing.
Tip #1: While you can get some prime shots on a clear day the real magic can happen with clouds in the picture as they reflect radiant colors of pink and orange and even purple to make a very unique picture. So check the weather before hand and see what treat you’re in for. Go hunting for a good wide shot.
Tip #2: Remember the Rule of Thirds as you take your shots. While it sometimes works in your favor to do your own thing, it’s good to place the horizon, sun, silhouette off center, so the horizon should be a ⅓ from the top or bottom, and work with composition.
Tip #3: Speaking of silhouettes, they are always a good thing to make them your focal points. So pick a subject. Whether it being a random person or a random tree, it will make a difference, I promise.
Tip #4: If you let the camera pick an automatic shutter speed, it’s less likely to pick up the true beauty of the sunset. Luckily the sunset is beautiful from start to finish so every moment is the moment to snap the picture. I suggest having a quick shutter speed and work your way to slower one.
And remember to not only capture the moment but to live in it. Hope this was helpfu1l
