Chris Isenhour has been named TC Roberson’s Teacher of the Year for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year. Isenhour, a freshman math teacher and yearbook advisor, has taught at Roberson since 2012.
To become selected for Teacher of the Year, teachers are first nominated by their peers, and then a final list of nominees is sent to the staff to vote on. According to Isenhour, he was surprised and honored to be selected.
“It’s a really awesome thing, and I feel like every teacher here knows that each of us is doing the very best that we can. Anyone here could win that, every single year. It’s just a nice way to honor your colleagues, but everyone should be getting recognized,” Isenhour said.
Senior Nicole Salgado is in Isenhour’s yearbook class, and feels that he is incredibly deserving of the title.
“He’s really dedicated to the class, and gets so involved with the students. Even when he was out when his wife was having his baby, he was still texting us, checking up on us, and making sure that we were doing our work- not many other teachers would do that. Some teachers are just there to teach, but that’s not the case with Mr. Isenhour,” Salgado said.
