As the snows of winter melt away and the tulips begin to bloom, knowing what to wear can be a challenge. Suddenly, some days your bulky sweater seems too warm and cozy and you’re dying to take it off. Other days your spring blouse feels too breezy and you’re shivering!
Though the hot to cold cycle seems impossible to overcome, I have 2 major tips in order to ensure you feel comfortable inside and out.
The first tip is transitional pieces. Though this seems obvious, people often times neglect the fact that jumpers and lightweight jackets can go a long way. One of my favorite wardrobe staples currently is a nice faux corduroy jacket. Personally, I invested in a higher end one from ASOS because I feel that if you plan on wearing something everyday, it should be good quality. Bomber jackets are also really great for those days when it’s chilly during the morning but by midday it feels like you’re in California.
My second tip is using skirts to take a sweater look from winter to spring. If you choose a looser sweater, tucking it into a button-front skirt or a miniskirt can create a whole new look without buying an entirely new wardrobe. Also, if you don’t have a lightweight sweater, I advise you to purchase one with unique trends, such as bell sleeves and lace decals. I bought mine from ASOS in a lilac color. It is on the cheaper end and looks insanely fashionably when paired with a camel colored button-front skirt. The pairing of pastel purple with a rich brown is a spitting image of spring. Also, a stripped shirt of a different fabric complements the skirt very nicely.
Hopefully these few tricks will allow you to dress for comfort while still looking stylish and, well, fashion forward.
