Hello lovelies! Last time I brought you all a playlist for studying, which I hope some of you got of hold of, but this time I am taking a turn from anything school related.
These past months for me, and maybe some of you, has been hectic when getting ready to go out. From Christmas, to New Year’s Eve, to parties and the like, I always have a playlist just for me to share on songs I love to sing in front of the mirror with my hairbrush.
If I’m being honest here, it takes me at least one to two hours to get ready, that’s why I am always fashionably late to events. These seventy songs are a part of the problem, but they also let me know how long I’ve been getting ready by each song finishing because next thing I know the playlist is repeating.
This playlist contains many female singers mainly because their music hits the mood more when I get ready. You want to have that confidence while getting ready and I feel like these songs achieve that.
A lot of 2000’s throwbacks are in this playlist because they’re songs I grew up with a lot that have that dance pop I love. Many of you all might recognize and get nostalgic– because I do.
“Just Dance” by Lady Gaga is the song that pops out for me the most. Not only does it bring back great memories but you’ll always have this temptation to sing and dance along with this song. It was released on April 8, 2008, and I remember clearly not knowing what the lyrics meant at all but the beat was too good not to join Gaga.
Beyoncé is the most repetitive artist in this playlist. The Queen Bey is the principle of energetic music. I won’t ever have a “lit” playlist without her. The playlist is filled with six songs from her debut solo, “Crazy in Love” to her feature on Nicki Minaj’s song, “Feeling Myself.” Beyoncé has the ideal music for a Friday night preparation for a party.
From “Hips Don’t Lie” to “La Tortura,” this playlist varies from English songs to Spanish ones just to have a taste of my Latin roots that I am very grateful for. Shakira is the one of the main Latin artist that I grew up with, and I hope to add more great Latin songs later in this playlist.
- “Potential Breakup Song” by Aly and AJ
- “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls
- “Woman” by Ke$ha
- “Groove is in the Heart” by Deee-Lite
- “Rehab” by Amy Winehouse
This playlist is available in Spotify and will be updated when new songs are introduced to me.
Much love and enjoy,
