Hey guys, its Adam Eisen here bringing you guys the 4th edition of my blog series Set; Hike! In today’s edition i’ll be talking to you guys about the NFL and how free agency has shaped up so far, including highlights on some key players that got drafted.
We are 20 weeks into the offseason with 16 to go until kickoff, the draft wrapped up about a month ago and there were lots of shocks that came out of it. Selected #1 overall by the Cleveland Browns was Baker Mayfield, this was a great move for the Browns considering during his college days at Oklahoma and Texas Tech he won a Heisman trophy and put up 14,607 yards passing, and 131 Touchdowns with only 30 Interceptions.
One other person I have a lot of trust in is pick #32 overall by the Baltimore Ravens, Lamar Jackson. Jackson went to Louisville college and was a monster QB, He threw for 9,043 yards, 69 touchdowns and 27 interceptions but he was primarily dominant in his rushing, he rushed for 4,132 yards and 50 touchdowns. Be prepared for for him to put up a fight for the starting job against Joe Flacco the 10 year veteran.
This offseason there have been lots of trades and statements being made. Teams needed key roles filled and two teams have really shined. The first team I would like to highlight is the Los Angeles Rams, the Rams had a great season going 11-5 and putting on a show after the previous season only going 4-12. New Head Coach Sean Mcvay came in and killed it by taking a new way to teach the young QB Jared Goff and incorporating everyone into their new found offense. But the only way to be a great team is to have talent on both sides of the ball, the Rams already had a dominant defense with 2x defensive player of the year Aaron Donald. However, during the last 20 weeks they were able to add key talent such as Marcus Peters and
Ndamukong Suh. Be prepared for the Rams to make a serious run this year, I predict them going 11-5 again but making a deep run into the playoffs.
The other team I would like to highlight is the Green Bay Packers, throughout this offseason they have added an offensive weapon in Jimmy Graham at Tight End but also added multiple players to the defensive including Muhammad Wilkerson, Jaire Alexander, and Josh Jackson. With all these editions the Packers have started to climb back into the power rankings and are getting recognition as a legit Super Bowl contender. Next season I predict the Packers to come out on fire going 13-3 and QB Aaron Rodgers winning the NFL’s MVP honors.
This is my final blog for the year but I’ll be back at the start of next season bringing you updates every couple of weeks, until then Go Pack Go!
