Hi loves, this month’s post is gonna be a little different. With spring break and summer coming up, I know tons of people are starting to get worried about that summer bod and whether or not your skin will be “no makeup ready” for beach or pool days. The arrival of summer leaves everyone a little stressed. I’m here today to offer a bit of advice about self confidence and embracing your own beauty.
It’s easy to scroll through Instagram and be intimidated by the photos we see of the gorgeous models and celebs. When people talk about this issue, it always comes back to “oh those pictures are so edited, they don’t really look like that, you can’t compare yourself to them,” while obviously this is true to an extent, there are plenty of users that look just like most or all of the photos that they post! I believe that you shouldn’t compare yourself to these photos, not because they’re unrealistic, but because comparing yourself to other people is pointless, you’re beautiful! Embrace the beauty that you have!
I feel like our generation spends so much time wishing for this or that, making it easy to forget to love the things that we already have. Everyone, and I mean everyone is beautiful in one way or another. I think that self love is so important because with self love comes happiness. It allows you to be confident; it allows you to better your love for others; and it takes away a lot of those moments of self doubt and constantly comparing yourself to others.
I know that’s easier said than done for some, but it’s okay to take baby steps. Don’t put yourself down, embrace what you have. Doubting your looks is a tough subject because we don’t get to choose those things–they are what they are! Every person is so unique; I believe that we should appreciate others beauty while keeping admiration and jealousy separate.
Keep on loving yourself, you’re beautiful! My next blog will be up soon, see you next time! I hope everyone has a fun spring break, xoxo.
