Continuing a trend that stretches back for decades, TC Roberson once again hosted the county-wide Special Olympics on campus and at Ensley Stadium.
“I enjoy it every year, the kids really look forward to it and it gives them an opportunity to come out and participate with others and their peers, we love it,” AC Reynolds student assistant Sheila Donahue said.
Donahue’s co-worker Melody Harris enjoyed it just as much.
“It’s so much fun. It’s so cool that we see our regular ed students working with our special needs kids. It all works out really well, just them interacting with each other,” Harris said.
This year, athletes not only were able to compete, enjoy concessions, and experience the Olympic Village, they also had a chance to get their picture taken at the photo booth.
“We really love TC, someone was asking the other day why its always at TC, but this school does a great job putting it all together,” Donahue said.
Athletes and family can check out the photos online at the end of the day using the QR codes passed out at the booth.
Congratulations to all those who competed this year!
