The first time Roberson played West Henderson, an area powerhouse, emotions ran high as the Rams lost the game in a five set battle. As the two teams met for the second time, the tables turned and Roberson won 3-1.
On Tuesday, when the two teams met once again, TC left no doubt that they were the No. 1 team in the WMAC, taking Game 5 in a thrilling 15-10 victory. That win gave Roberson, who had already secured the top spot in the conference, a conference tournament crown as well.
“The season has gone very well, I mean it’s not over yet. It has been the best season Roberson volleyball has seen in a long time,” senior Payton Murray said.
The Rams saw Murray named MVP of the tournament and is looking to make a run at the state title once again this year. The Rams have one state title, coming all the back in 1979. The journey begins Saturday against the No. 30 seed, McMichael Highschool
